   Indian Vegetarian Recipes - Vegetable Dishes
 
 
 
  Kande Ki Sabzi  
  (Stewed onions)  
 
INGERIDENTS
Onions (cut into pieces) 1/2 kg
Oil 1/2 cup
Cumin seeds 1 tspn
Ginger-garlic paste 3 tspn
Turmeric powder 1/2 tspn
Yogurt (curd) 1/4 cup
Salt to taste
 
Kande Ki Sabzi, Stewed onions
 
  METHOD  
 
STEP 1: Heat the oil in a pan and saute the cumin seeds for a few seconds.
STEP 2: Add the ginger-garlic paste and fry till well powdered.
STEP 3: Mix the dry spices in 1/2 cup of water and yogurt. Add this to the pan and fry well.
STEP 4: When the mixture leaves the sides of the pan, add the onions and salt and stir well.
STEP 5: Add 1/2 cup of water and cook on a low flame till the onions are tender but not too soft. Serve hot with rotis.
