  Lapsi  
  (Sweetened broken wheat / bulgar, perked up with Indian dry fruit)  
 
INGERIDENTS
Broken wheat 1 cup
Clarified butter (ghee) 1/2 cup
Aniseeds (saunf) 1 tspn
Almonds (blanched & halved) 8-10
Almonds (slivers) 4-5
Dry coconut (slivers) 1 tspn
Sugar 1/2 cup
Green cardamoms (crushed) 4
 
Lapsi, Sweetened broken wheat / bulgar, perked up with Indian dry fruit
 
  METHOD  
 
STEP 1: Heat the carlified butter in a pan. Add the aniseeds and let them crackle.
STEP 2: Add the broken wheat and stir-fry till it is well browned.
STEP 3: Add the almonds, coconut and three cups water and bring to a boil.
STEP 4: Lower the flame and cook till the broken wheat is tender.
STEP 5: Add the sugar and stir till it dissolves completely. Remove from flame.
STEP 6: Garnish with a few slivers of almonds and cardamoms just before serving.
