I believe you and what you're conveying to all of us. People are too wrapped up in their own secular lives that the important things are amiss. To embrace spirituality to the point that you have is what I believe is something worthwhile. This life is just a temporary existence. What happens between lives is completely dependent on what you learned and experienced previously. It's truly the thoughts you have in your mind when you leave this plane of existence that will directly influence where you go next: Maybe it be as a beloved creature such as a dog or cat...maybe it is into another person, but through a completely different perspective than your previous life (poor, then rich; Asian, then Caucasian, etc.). The real problem is the influences all around us in the form of society-at-large. Video games, animation, chatting software on the internet and of course being a completely lazy sod and doing nothing. I am sure there are many of us who want to look back at our lives with a smile on our faces, not continuously view the past as our best days. Our best days are ahead of us: In this life or the next.

Nice article. I have always leaned towards the finer aspects of what life has to offer in spiritual terms. My knowledge on Hinduism is a bit infant. I wish to be able to see what our great sages have been able to and understand the knowledge that has always been here, all around us.

What I have gathered so far is; Understanding our "self" is the key to knowing who we are and why we have come into being. Our work, actions and thoughts determine what we are to become and accomplish. This is a cycle that has been set into motion right in the creation phase of our existence and after countless lifetimes we are yet to decipher what those"truths" are.

I wish all good faith and knowledge and hope to know more each day.

Hi Mok,

Thanks for reading my post on Soya Bean! I have tried to put across the nutritional and versatility benefits of Soya Bean for the general public as a whole.

But, as you say that you are suffering from gout and your doctor has ordered you to abstain from consuming Soya Bean, it would be absolutely right to follow those orders because, Soya Bean has indeed a very high content of protein and gout may be caused or aggravated by a high level of protein intake especially proteins that are rich in purines, again which Soya Bean forms a part of.

Your doctor would be the best person to guide you in your case. However, if at anytime you feel the need to know about - how to treat gout with Yoga, please feel free to contact me.

All the best for a speedy recovery!

I feel that even on a level of practicality, the vedic lifestyle is the topmost. People fail to realize that vedic lifestyle does not only promote spiritual health. On a level of material health and prosperity, the vedic lifestyle is most beneficial. This includes having a vegetarian diet, as well as abstaining from intoxication, gambling and illicit sex. The fact that these benefits come does is not, or should not seem surprising. For it seems logical and is stated in the vedas, that one must be physically comfortable, mentally stable, and emotionally strong to advance in spirituality most effectively. Just wanted to add my two cents.

Nice writeup but people listen to all this only when there is extreme disharmony and loss of peace.

Since you represent hindu life, the concept that impresses most in Hinduism is the concept of Svadharrma or one's vocation in life as it has to do with a majority of waking hours. If they are miserable, life becomes unbearable.

That's a lot of knowledge about the "OM" mantra. But have we ever wondered - How does the original "OM" look like? Most of us might say "How does it matter?". But remember, everything in spiritualism is critical. Think about it!
